Wheelchair rugby

More info on wheelchair rugby

Wheelchair rugby is played in teams that can consist of both men and women. There are 4 players per team on the field at all times. Points are scored by driving the ball, under control, over the opponent's goal line. Like its able-bodied counterpart, wheelchair rugby is a full-contact sport, making it a rough and dynamic Paralympic sport to watch!

The sport is played by athletes with impairments in both their arms and legs. To ensure fairness, each player is assigned a classification based on their disability. Classifications range from 0.5 points to 3.5 points. The larger the impairment, the lower the score. A team can field four players with a combined maximum of 8 points.
